Afghanistan has moved ahead of Bangladesh in the latest ICC One Day International rankings following their recent three-match series, where Afghanistan claimed a 2-1 victory.
Bangladesh now drops to ninth, while Afghanistan climbs to eighth.
The series concluded with Afghanistan’s five-wicket win over Bangladesh in the final ODI at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
Both teams now hold 85 rating points, but Afghanistan edges Bangladesh based on decimal calculations.
This series marked Bangladesh’s first ODI outing in seven months, following a home series against Sri Lanka in March. Afghanistan, meanwhile, has shown consistent form in the 50-over format, including a 2-1 series win over South Africa in Sharjah in September.
Both teams have three more ODIs scheduled this year: Bangladesh will play the West Indies in the Caribbean in December, while Afghanistan will tour Zimbabwe during the same month.
