Taliban leaders convene economic commission meeting in Kandahar, sources say

Senior Taliban officials gathered on Monday in the southern province of Kandahar for a session of their Economic Commission, according to sources within the Taliban.

The sources confirmed that Hibatullah Akhundzada, the Taliban’s supreme leader, was absent from the meeting. However, Abdul Ghani Baradar, the Taliban’s acting deputy prime minister for economic affairs, and other top Taliban officials responsible for economic matters were in attendance, the sources said.
