PANJSHIR, Afghanistan — A young man was reportedly shot and killed in Panjshir Province on Friday morning, with sources alleging that Taliban forces were responsible, according to local contacts who spoke with Amu.
The incident took place as the young man, identified as Ahmad Faheem, was heading toward the mountains to tend to his livestock, sources said. Mr. Faheem was a shepherd in the Jahr Ali area of Panjshir’s Abshar district.
Residents told Amu News that Taliban forces in Panjshir frequently detain locals found in the mountains, although it remains unclear why Mr. Faheem was targeted.
Taliban officials have not commented on the incident, and no official motive has been provided.
