BEIRUT, Lebanon — An Israeli strike in southern Lebanon early Friday killed three journalists staying in a guesthouse in Hasbaya, according to Lebanese media reports.
The journalists, including cameraman Ghassan Najjar and engineer Mohamed Reda of the pro-Iranian news outlet Al-Mayadeen, as well as a cameraman for Hezbollah-affiliated Al-Manar, were killed when the bungalow they were sleeping in was struck, Al-Mayadeen reported.
Reporters at the scene said the strike appeared to have directly targeted the guesthouse. Al-Mayadeen’s director, Ghassan bin Jiddo, said on X, formerly Twitter, that the journalists’ residence was “deliberately targeted” and noted that several journalists from other Arab channels were also injured.
The attack follows an Israeli strike the day before on an Al-Mayadeen office in Beirut’s southern suburbs.
There has been no immediate response from Israeli authorities regarding the incident.
