Four dead, over 30 injured in traffic accidents in Faryab, Panjshir

At least four people were killed and more than 30 injured in three separate traffic accidents in Afghanistan’s Faryab and Panjshir provinces, Taliban officials reported.

In Faryab, two people lost their lives and 20 others were injured after a mini-van overturned in Qaisar district on Friday, according to the Taliban-run Bakhtar News Agency. Several of the injured are said to be in critical condition. In a separate accident in Faryab’s Almar district, one person was killed and more than ten were injured when another vehicle overturned.

In Panjshir province, one person was killed and another injured in a similar accident in Rukha district, where a vehicle reportedly veered off the road.

Authorities have cited driver negligence as a leading cause of the accidents. Faryab is located in the northwestern region of the country, while Panjshir lies in central Afghanistan. Traffic accidents are a common occurrence in Afghanistan, often due to poor road conditions and limited traffic regulation.
