Five killed in traffic accident in Bamiyan

BAMIYAN, Afghanistan — As traffic accidents continue to rise across the country, a collision in Bamiyan province on Friday killed five people, including two women, and left two others injured.

Taliban-run National broadcaster, RTA, reported that the accident occurred late Friday morning when a Toyota Corolla collided with a cargo truck in the Sheber district of the province.

According to statistics provided by the Taliban’s traffic department, 291 people have lost their lives in traffic accidents across various parts of the country in the past five months.

Data collected by Amu TV show that nearly 70 people have died in traffic incidents in the last month alone.

The cause of many of these accidents has been attributed to driver negligence.
