HERAT, Afghanistan — Seven members of a family were killed in a traffic accident on the Herat-Adraskan highway in the west of Afghanistan, according to local officials.
The accident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, resulting in the deaths of women and children among the victims, said Mohammad Zahir Noorzai, the director of Herat Ambulance Services.
The incident was caused by a collision between a sedan and a truck.
This tragedy marks the second fatal traffic accident in Herat within 24 hours. On Saturday night, four people lost their lives in another traffic accident on the Herat-Karukh highway.
