Pakistan summons German ambassador over riot at Frankfurt consulate

ISLAMABAD — Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry summoned the German ambassador, Alfred Grannas, on Sunday to express strong protest over a riot at the Pakistani Consulate-General in Frankfurt.

The Pakistani media reported that the Foreign Ministry lodged a formal complaint regarding the incident, where protesters stormed the consulate and brought down the Pakistani flag.

Videos circulating on social media show the protesters entering the consulate premises and removing the national flag. The Pakistani Foreign Ministry condemned the actions, labeling them as unacceptable and a violation of diplomatic norms.

“The Pakistani government strongly condemns the desecration of its national flag and the violation of the sanctity of its consulate,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
