Taliban at a ceremony on Wednesday announced the opening of three new branches for passport distribution in Kabul.

Taliban’s head of the Passport Directorate said the new centers are located in Darul Aman, Qala-e-Zaman Khan, and Tangi Tarakhel areas.

According to Haseeb, each branch is expected to serve 2,000 passport applicants daily.

This expansion comes amid widespread complaints from citizens about the slow passport issuance process. Since the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan, many citizens have rushed to passport departments in hopes of leaving the country.

However, the slow distribution process has led to significant delays, with some applicants reporting waits of around a year to receive their passports.

Additionally, there have been reports of passports being sold at high prices on the black market.
