Two killed in traffic accident in Bamiyan

Two people were dead and four others were injured in a traffic accident in the central province of Bamiyan on Tuesday afternoon, the Taliban-run provincial security command said.

Mohammad Khani Rasa, spokesman for Taliban’s security command in Bamiyan, said the incident happened the Dahane Ahangaran area in the province.

According to Rasa, the injured include three women and one child.

He said the accident was caused by a collision between a Toyota Corolla and a power pole.

This incident comes amid a recent increase in traffic accidents on highways across the country, resulting in dozens of fatalities.

On the same day, Tuesday, July 16, 18 people were killed in two traffic accidents in Parwan and Kandahar provinces.

Most of these accidents are attributed to driver negligence and high-speed driving.
