Veteran journalist Khan Wali Salarzai passed away at age 52 on Friday night due to health issues.
The Afghanistan Journalist Center (AFJC) announced on Saturday that Salarzai had been suffering from health problems and was taken to Jalalabad from Asadabad, Kunar. A relative was transporting him to a hospital in Kabul based on doctors’ recommendations, but he died en route.
Salarzai, a former journalist with RTA, now run by the Taliban, had also worked with numerous domestic news agencies.
Originally from the Shigal district of Kunar, Salarzai held a degree in Pashto literacy from Kabul University. His body will be taken to Chaharsada district in Kunduz province for burial.
