Helicopter carrying Iran’s president involved in ‘accident’ in East Azerbaijan province

A helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi was involved in an “accident” in East Azerbaijan province, Tasnim News Agency reported.

According to the report, Ayatollah Al-Hashem, the governor of East Azerbaijan, and Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian were also on board the helicopter.

Tasnim, quoting Mehrabian, noted, “Mehrabian, along with Bezaripour, the Ministers of Energy and Road who were in other helicopters, have arrived safely at their destination.”

Due to the “foggy weather in the region,” the status of the helicopter is still unclear, the report said.
