Clashes between Taliban, Pakistani forces continue sporadically

KABUL, Afghanistan — Clashes between Pakistani border forces and the Taliban resumed on Thursday morning and continue sporadically, according to sources in Paktia province in eastern Afghanistan.

The fighting occurred in the border area of Dand-e Patan in Paktia province in northeastern Afghanistan.

This follows clashes on Wednesday in the Zazi Aryub district of Paktia province, where Pakistani forces and the Taliban engaged in several hours of fighting.

Sources reported that at least six Taliban members were injured in Wednesday’s clashes.

The Taliban have not yet commented on the recent clashes.
