CSTO chief, UN representatives discuss Afghanistan

Imangali Tasmagambetov, the Secretary-General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), met with Roza Otunbayeva, head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan, in Kyrgyzstan on Monday, April 8.

During the meeting, Otunbayeva outlined the main areas of international assistance coordinated by the United Nations aimed at promoting peace and stability in the region and reintegrating Afghanistan into the international community.

She also shared insights on the country’s political development progress, according to a statement by CSTO.

Tasmagambetov highlighted the CSTO member states’ commitment to supporting Afghanistan’s evolution into an independent, unified, and peaceful nation, free from terrorism, conflict, and narcotics.
