Taliban publicly executes one in Jawzjan

The Taliban publicly executed an individual in Jawzjan province in northern Afghanistan, marking the third execution in a week.

The individual, identified as Nazar Mohammad from the Pulcharagh district of Faryab province, was accused of murder, according to a Taliban statement.

The Taliban’s Supreme Court stated Mohammad was accused of killing a person in Faryab province.

The decision, made by the Taliban’s courts, was approved by its Supreme Leader, Hibatullah Akhundzada.

Human rights groups, including Amnesty International, have strongly criticized the Taliban’s recent public executions, particularly the two in Ghazni last week. Amnesty International expressed grave concerns about the lack of fair trial rights under the Taliban’s rule.

In recent days, the Taliban has publicly flogged four people in northern Afghanistan.
