Qatar’s national football team triumphed over Jordan with a 3-1 victory, clinching their second consecutive AFC Asian Cup championship.
The final match, marking the 18th edition of the tournament, was held at Lusail Stadium on Saturday.
Akram Afif was the standout performer for Qatar, netting three crucial goals at the 22nd and 73rd minutes, and again in the second half’s extra time at the fifth minute. Jordan’s Yazan Al-Naimat scored in the 67th minute.
Qatar first claimed the AFC Asian Cup title in 2019.
