Pakistani media reports indicate that 1,638 undocumented Afghan migrants were repatriated from Pakistan on Sunday, December 17, as the ongoing deportations from the neighboring country persist.
This figure reflects a consistent level of deportations compared to the previous day. The migrants were deported through the Torkham and Spin Boldak border crossings.
According to Pakistani media statistics, a total of 436,790 undocumented Afghans have been repatriated to Afghanistan thus far.
The World Food Program reports that more than 280,000 individuals, forced to return from Pakistan to Afghanistan, have received WFP food and cash assistance. With limited options and facing the harsh Afghan winter, many of these repatriated individuals find themselves without a place to go and uncertain about their survival, as highlighted by the organization.
