In Gaza, Israel has continued its military operation for the 27th consecutive day aimed at eliminating Hamas, following the October 7 attack by the Islamist group. On Thursday, plumes of smoke billowed from ongoing Israeli air strikes in the enclave.
Israel’s intense aerial bombardment campaign in Gaza commenced after the October 7 attack. According to Israeli reports, the operation has resulted in the deaths of approximately 1,400 people, primarily civilians, with more than 200 individuals taken hostage, including foreign nationals and individuals with dual Israeli nationality.
In response, the Gaza health ministry in the Hamas-controlled enclave has reported a staggering toll, stating that at least 8,796 Palestinians, including 3,648 children, have lost their lives due to Israeli strikes since October 7.
