Afghanistan’s under-17 national football team secured the third position in the Central Asian Football Association’s (CAFA) U-17 championship, following a defeat against Uzbekistan in their concluding match on Sunday evening.
Iran’s national youth football team also clinched a second victory on Sunday night, prevailing over Tajikistan, thereby drawing level with Afghanistan in the standings. Despite a difference in goal count due to their loss against Afghanistan, Iran maintained fourth place in the rankings.
Afghanistan secured a commendable bronze medal in the tournament. Tajikistan emerged as the victors, while Uzbekistan secured the runner-up spot in the competition.
Kyrgyzstan’s under-17 football team secured fifth place in the tournament.
Afghanistan’s national youth football team concluded the competition with a third-place ranking, recording two wins and two defeats.
