The Norwegian Refugees Council (NRC) has resumed its activities in Kandahar and some other parts of the country, head of the aid agency, Jan Egeland, said on Monday.
“I am glad to confirm that we have been able to resume most of our humanitarian operations in Kandahar as well as a number of other regions in Afghanistan,” Egeland said in a tweet.
He added: “All our work is for women and men, girls and boys alike, and with equal participation of our female and male humanitarian colleagues.”
Taliban banned women from working in aid agencies last December, a decision that triggered widespread condemnations.
