A three-member delegation from Pakistan has arrived in Kabul for talks with Taliban, sources told Amu on Tuesday.
According to the sources, the delegation is led by Fazl ur-Rehman Khalil, a Pakistani cleric.
Khalil is the founder of the militant group Harkat-ul-Mujahideen and the current leader of Ansar-ul-Ummah.
The delegation is expected to discuss ways to reduce tensions between Pakistan and Taliban, the sources said.
The visit comes as clashes between Pakistani forces and Taliban have continued for nearly two weeks along parts of the Afghanistan-Pakistan border.
Although the intensity of fighting has decreased in the past three days, heavy clashes were reported during the first 10 days of the confrontation.
The United Nations has said at least 56 civilians have been killed in the fighting.
