At least four people were killed and two others injured in a road accident in northern Afghanistan’s Jawzjan province, local sources told Amu on Monday.
The victims were recent graduates of Arabkhana Experimental High School in Maimana, the capital of Faryab province. They had travelled to Mazar-i-Sharif in Balkh for a celebratory outing and were returning home when their vehicle veered off the highway linking Sheberghan and Khwaja Du Koh district and overturned, the sources said.
Three young men — identified as Atiqullah, Barkatullah and Samiullah — died at the scene, while three others were taken to hospital in critical condition. One of the injured, Ahmad Khalid, later died at a regional hospital in Mazar-i-Sharif, the sources added.
In a separate incident, two people were killed and 20 injured in a road accident in Kunduz province on Sunday, after a 480-model passenger vehicle skidded off the road near Aliabad district, according to local sources.
