The final match of the Youth Triangular Series between Afghanistan U-19 and India A U-19 was abandoned on Sunday due to persistent rain in Bengaluru, leading both teams to share the tournament trophy.
The highly anticipated final saw a promising start for the Afghan side, with bowlers delivering early breakthroughs before the weather forced play to a halt.
Afghanistan’s Abdul Aziz Khan and Salam Khan made immediate impacts after the toss, helping restrict India A to 22 for 3 after just seven overs. By the time rain interrupted proceedings again, India A had reached 79 for 5 in 19 overs. No further play was possible as rain continued throughout the afternoon, leaving ground staff unable to prepare the field for a restart.
With no result possible, organizers declared both teams joint champions of the 2025 Youth Triangular Series.
Abdul Aziz Khan was named Best Player of the Series for his standout bowling performance, claiming 13 wickets across the tournament.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board celebrated the team’s performance on social media, highlighting the bowlers’ early dominance in the final and sharing images of the team holding the championship trophy.
Earlier in the day, the board had announced Afghanistan’s playing XI, which included standout performers such as Khalid Ahmadzai, Wahidullah Zadran, Mahboob Khan, and Abdul Aziz Khan.
The Youth Triangular Series featured Afghanistan U-19, India A U-19, and a third national youth side.
