An unidentified drone was seen flying over Afghanistan’s Panjshir Province on Sunday morning, according to multiple local sources who spoke to Amu TV.
Residents reported that the drone circled over several districts, including Shotul, Anaba, Rokha, and Bazarak, the provincial capital. Witnesses said the aircraft was flying at a low altitude and appeared to be conducting surveillance of mountainous terrain, making two passes over parts of the region.
There was no immediate comment from the Taliban authorities regarding the incident.
This is the latest in a string of similar sightings reported in recent months across Panjshir.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid previously claimed that US drones have entered Afghanistan’s airspace via neighboring countries. He did not name specific nations but criticized what he described as violations of Afghanistan’s sovereignty.
