Local sources said that armed robbers killed a Khost resident named Abdul Mangal after abducting him 17 days ago.
The sources said his body was found Friday. Mangal had lived in Dasht Kandya, in the provincial capital, they added.
Taliban have not commented on the incident.
This comes after reports of armed robberies and killings by unidentified assailants have recently increased in several provinces.
