A delegation from the Muslim World League, led by its secretary-general, Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, arrived in Kabul on Monday for high-level meetings with Taliban leadership, according to a statement from Taliban.
The delegation is expected to hold talks with top Taliban officials, including their chief minister Mohammad Hassan Akhund, Taliban Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani, and Taliban Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi, the statement said.
The Muslim World League, a Saudi-based non-governmental organization, was founded in 1962 with the stated aim of promoting Islamic teachings, fostering unity among Muslim nations, and countering extremism. The organization operates offices in several countries and sponsors interfaith dialogue, Islamic education, and humanitarian aid initiatives.
