A growing number of male students in Afghanistan are reportedly leaving school in protest of a new Taliban-imposed dress code that mandates traditional clothing, including turbans, long shirts, and trousers, according to students and human rights advocates.

Students say the policy — which requires all male pupils and teachers to wear white shalwar kameez, turbans, or caps — has discouraged many from continuing their education.
