Afghanistan faces England in second match of Champions Trophy

KARACHI, Pakistan — Afghanistan took the field against England on Wednesday in its second match of the ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan, opting to bat first.

By the 13th over, Afghanistan had scored 43 runs for the loss of three wickets.

In its tournament opener, Afghanistan suffered a defeat against South Africa.

The eight-team tournament features the world’s top cricketing nations, divided into two groups. Group A consists of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and New Zealand, while Group B includes Afghanistan, Australia, England, and South Africa.
