Three days after a suicide bombing outside Afghanistan’s Ministry of Urban Development and Housing in Kabul, Japan’s embassy on Sunday condemned the attack, calling for an end to such attacks in the country.

In a statement on X, the embassy said: “Such acts of terrorism in Afghanistan must stop.”

The attack, which occurred on Thursday, February 13, in Kabul’s Ninth Police District, was claimed by the Islamic State’s Khorasan branch (ISIS-K) on Saturday.

According to the Taliban, at least one person was killed and five others were wounded in the explosion. However, ISIS-K claimed the attack targeted 10 Taliban members, including a senior official. The militant group also identified the bomber as Abu Yusuf Ansari.

Taliban, meanwhile, said the attacker was killed at the ministry’s entrance before reaching his intended target.
