TEHRAN — Mohammad Reza Bahrami, Iran’s former ambassador to Afghanistan, has been appointed as the Director General for South Asia at the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to Iranian media reports on Tuesday.
Bahrami previously served as Iran’s ambassador to Afghanistan from 2013 to 2019.
This marks his second tenure in the role, as he also held the same post during the presidency of Mohammad Khatami and the first two years of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s administration.
