A fire at a shoe factory in the Kalubai area of Police District 9 in Kabul has caused significant financial losses, estimated at approximately $500,000, according to factory officials.
The fire, which broke out on Friday, completely destroyed the storage area for raw materials and finished products, resulting in the total loss of the factory’s investment. The facility is located along the Kabul-Jalalabad highway.
Details about the cause of the fire have not yet been released, but authorities are investigating the incident, officials said.
This is the latest in a series of fires in Kabul that have caused severe financial damage. Similar incidents have often been attributed to inadequate safety measures at industrial facilities, highlighting ongoing concerns about fire prevention and preparedness in the area.
