KABUL, Afghanistan — Kam Air, a private airline in the country, on Wednesday inaugurated direct flights between Kabul and Doha, the capital of Qatar.
In a statement, the Taliban hailed the launch of direct flights as a development that would “extend relations with Doha” and provide “further facilities for passengers.”
This comes as the airline cooperation agreement signed in October 2023 with Qatar that paved the way for these direct services.
After the fall of Kabul to the Taliban in August 2021, operations by many airline companies were stopped. Few companies, including Kam Air, Qatar Airways and Ariana Afghan Airlines, have resumed their operations since then.
