Afghanistan’s Volleyball Federation announced that Nasir Kohistani, a prominent player on the Afghan national volleyball team, has signed a contract to play for Iraq’s Al-Daghara Al-Riyadhi Volleyball Club.
The one-year contract, signed on Monday, includes a monthly salary of $1,000, according to a statement from the federation. Kohistani, who wears the No. 10 jersey for the Afghan national team, has represented Afghanistan at the national level for three years.
Before committing to the Iraqi club, Kohistani had also expressed interest in joining a club in Iran, though no agreement was reached.
