An armed attack in Afghanistan’s northern Faryab Province left five people dead, including three civilians, according to local Taliban authorities.
Abdullah Moradi, a spokesperson for the Taliban police in Faryab, confirmed to Amu TV that the attack took place on Thursday evening in Qaisar district, when a group of armed assailants targeted a vehicle carrying civilians in the Agh Kotul area.
He said three civilians and two Taliban members were killed in the incident, while five other civilians were injured.
Among the victims was a woman, Moradi added.
According to him, the attackers are believed to be thieves, though further details about the assailants or their motives were not provided.
