Local sources in the northern Balkh province reported that the wife of former member of parliament Abdul Khaliq was killed during a late-night attack at her home on Thursday.
According to the sources, the incident occurred Thursday evening at the residence in the Seh-Dokan neighborhood within the fifth police district of Mazar-e-Sharif City.
The sources further stated that two unidentified armed men entered the home of Mr. Khaliq, where they fatally shot his wife in front of their children. The motive behind the killing remains unclear.
Taliban have not yet commented on the incident.
