Iran FM says they are ‘fully prepared for war’

Iran’s foreign minister warned on Tuesday that while the nation does not seek conflict, it is fully prepared for war should Israel choose to “test our will.”

Speaking at a news conference, Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi emphasized that any attack on Iranian infrastructure would provoke a swift and strong response. “Our policy is not one of war or continued tension, but we are ready for it,” Araqchi said, following a televised address.

Tensions between the two nations have escalated since Iran launched a missile barrage at Israel last week, prompting Israel to vow retaliation.

In a related development, Iran’s oil minister visited Kharg Island—home to Iran’s principal oil export terminal—on Sunday, where he held discussions with a naval commander, according to the oil ministry’s news agency, Shana. The visit underscored Iran’s concerns over potential Israeli strikes targeting its energy facilities.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Joe Biden commented on Friday that he believed Israel had yet to decide on a course of action in response to the escalating tensions.
