Son of former female commander injured in Taliban attack: Sources

Son of Bibi Aisha, a former famous female local commander, has been injured in an attack by the Taliban, sources in Baghlan told Amu.

Reza Mohammad, the son of Aisha—widely known as Commander Kaftar—was reportedly working on his farm in his home village when the assault occurred.

Commander Kaftar was a well-known military figure in the fight against the Taliban during Afghanistan’s previous government. Her son, Reza Mohammad, had returned to the village after being deported from Iran, according to the sources.

This is not the first tragedy to strike Kaftar’s family. Her second son was killed earlier in an unrelated incident involving a cousin in the northern province of Baghlan.

Commander Kaftar remains a significant figure in her region, recognized for her role in leading anti-Taliban forces, though her family has faced ongoing challenges and violence in the wake of the Taliban’s return to power.
