Britain to close Afghanistan’s embassy, source says

The British government has decided to close Afghanistan’s embassy in the United Kingdom, according to a source within the embassy who spoke with Amu.

The source said that the decision has been communicated to Zalmai Rassoul, Afghanistan’s ambassador to the U.K.

Last month, Taliban declared documents issued by 14 Afghan embassies, including the one in Britain, to be invalid.

These diplomatic missions are still being run by diplomats from Afghanistan’s former government, who have stated that they do not follow orders from the Taliban due to its lack of international recognition.
