Afghanistan defeats New Zealand 5-1 in Continental Futsal Championship

Afghanistan’s national futsal team triumphed over New Zealand with a decisive 5-1 victory in the Continental Futsal Championship on Wednesday in Bangkok, Thailand.

The teams were tied 1-1 at the end of the first half, but Afghanistan dominated the second half, scoring four additional goals to secure the win.

The victory came a day after Afghanistan’s loss to Kuwait. The tournament, which began on August 29, includes teams from Afghanistan, Thailand, Guatemala, New Zealand, and Kuwait, and runs through September 6.

In addition to their strong performance in Bangkok, Afghanistan has qualified for the 2024 Futsal World Cup, which will be held in Uzbekistan starting on September 14.
