Video shows Taliban beating children to coerce confession of theft

Jawzjan, Afghanistan — A video obtained by Amu appears to show Taliban beating two children, allegedly to force them to confess to a theft.

The footage, reportedly filmed three days ago in Jawzjan Province, depicts a disturbing scene of violence.

According to sources who shared the video, the children were subjected to the beating in an attempt to coerce them into admitting their involvement in a robbery. However, the accuracy of the claims and the circumstances surrounding the incident have not been independently verified by Amu.

This video surfaces amid ongoing concerns from human rights organizations regarding the use of torture and mistreatment by the Taliban, particularly in prisons. Reports of individuals dying as a result of such torture have drawn widespread condemnation from the international community.
