Bodies of five Afghan nationals found in Pakistan’s Balochistan

QUETTA, Pakistan — The bodies of five Afghan citizens, riddled with bullets, were discovered in Pakistan’s Balochistan province, local media reported. According to Pakistani police, the victims were shot to death before their bodies were hung from electricity poles in the Dalbandin area of the Bagh district.

Dalbandin, located near Afghanistan’s Helmand province, is a known hub for the illegal passage of people into Pakistan and Iran. Pakistani authorities indicated that the area is primarily operated by the militant group Jaish al-Adl, which is believed to have targeted the Afghan nationals.

The bodies have been transferred to a morgue in Quetta, where they await identification and handover to their families. While the identities of the victims have not yet been officially disclosed, initial reports suggest they were residents of Lashkar Gah in Helmand province.

Footage released by Pakistani media reportedly shows the five bodies hanging from electricity poles, with Jaish al-Adl claiming responsibility for the killings. In a video released on August 2, the group alleged that the individuals were former members of Afghanistan’s security forces who had collaborated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) against Jaish al-Adl.

The details of the group’s claims, including the alleged involvement of the IRGC, have not been confirmed by official sources. Pakistani police have stated that investigations are ongoing, and citizens are calling for a thorough probe into the incident.

The Taliban, who claim to be the legitimate rulers of Afghanistan, have yet to comment on the killings or the accusations made by Jaish al-Adl.
