Afghan swimmer Fahim Anwari finishes eighth in 50m Freestyle

In the ongoing Paris 2024 Olympics, Afghan swimmer Fahim Anwari competed in the Men’s 50m Freestyle on Thursday, finishing in eighth place among eight swimmers.

Anwari completed the distance in 27.14 seconds.

Fakhroddin Madkamov of Tajikistan claimed first place in this heat.

Meanwhile, Kimia Yousofi of Afghanistan is set to compete in the 100-meter sprint on Friday.

Earlier, Afghan judoka Mohammad Samim Faizad was defeated by his Austrian opponent last Tuesday.

The Afghan contingent at the Paris Olympics includes Fahim Anwari in swimming, Kimia Yousofi in women’s athletics, Mohammad Sameem Faizzada in judo, Fariba Hashimi in cycling, Shah Mahmood Noorzehi in men’s athletics, and Yulduz Hashimi in cycling.

Additionally, five other Afghan athletes are participating under the International Olympic Committee’s refugee team.
