Israeli aircraft strike Hezbollah targets in Lebanon as border tensions escalate

The Israeli military launched airstrikes against Hezbollah in Lebanon overnight, the military reported on Sunday.

Aerial footage posted by the Israeli military on Telegram showed strikes on targets purportedly belonging to Hezbollah.

Subsequently, at least 30 rockets were fired from Lebanon across the border, according to the military.

“Overnight, the Israeli Air Force struck a series of Hezbollah terror targets deep inside Lebanese territory and in southern Lebanon, including weapons caches and terrorist infrastructure,” read a caption accompanying the footage.

On Saturday, July 27, a rocket attack on a football ground in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights killed 12 people, including children. Israeli authorities attributed the attack to Hezbollah and vowed to impose severe consequences on the Iran-backed Lebanese group.

Reuters was unable to independently verify the location or date of the footage.
