Pashtun Tahafuz Movement member dies of wounds in Islamabad attack

ISLAMABAD — Gilaman Wazir, a senior member of the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement and a poet, has died after being severely injured in an attack in Islamabad.

Manzoor Pashteen, leader of the movement, confirmed his death in a speech to his supporters outside an Islamabad hospital, saying that all efforts to save him had failed.

Wazir was 29, according to information available online.

He was violently assaulted by a group in Islamabad on Sunday evening, July 7.

Following the attack, Wazir was admitted to a hospital in Islamabad, where his condition was reported as critical.
