KABUL, Afghanistan — Taliban will send a delegation to the upcoming Doha meeting, their spokesperson, Zabihullah Mujahid, confirmed to Amu.

The third round of the Doha meeting is scheduled to take place in two weeks.

“Our delegation will represent Afghanistan at the meeting,” Mujahid stated.

Meanwhile, women activists have criticized the Taliban’s participation in the third Doha meeting and have called for a boycott.

Although the official agenda for the talks has not yet been released, senior diplomats told Amu that human rights issues are not currently included, a point that has drawn strong reactions from human rights activists.

In this third round of Doha talks, the selection of a United Nations special envoy for Afghanistan has been excluded, and there has been no official mention of inviting representatives from civil society.

The third Doha meeting is set for June 30.
