Several women detained by the Taliban in downtown Kabul on Wednesday remain in custody, sources said on Thursday.
Witnesses say the women were arrested on Wednesday in the upscale Shahr-e-Naw neighborhood, allegedly for being without a male guardian — a rule enforced by the Taliban’s Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice.
