Afghanistan: Traffic accident in Badakhshan claims four lives

BADAKHSHAN — A traffic accident in Badakhshan province resulted in the deaths of four individuals and left seven others injured, according to local Taliban officials.

Hekmatullah Mohammadi, head of information for the Taliban-run Department of Information and Culture in Badakhshan, informed the media that the incident occurred at 10 p.m. last night in the Dehnaab Sabat area of the Yftal Paein district.

Mohammadi attributed the accident to a Land Cruiser veering off the road. The victims were traveling from the Ragestan district toward Faizabad, the provincial capital of Badakhshan.

This incident comes just two days after a landslide in the province claimed four more lives.
