UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received a Taliban delegation led by Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani, UAE media reported on Tuesday.
The meeting, held at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, focused on strengthening “the bonds of cooperation between the two countries and ways to enhance ties to serve mutual interests and contribute to regional stability,” according to UAE media.
Discussions centered on economic and development fields, as well as support for reconstruction and development in Afghanistan.
Haqqani expressed his pleasure at meeting the UAE president and praised “the distinguished relations” between the UAE and the Taliban.
