FAIZABAD, Afghanistan — A traffic accident in Badakhshan province in northeastern Afghanistan resulted in the death of four family members.
According to Taliban-run Bakhtar News Agency, the incident took place near the city of Baharak in Badakhshan.
In addition to the fatalities, seven others were injured, with three in critical condition, according to the report. Women and children are among the victims.
A spokesperson for the Taliban’s security department in Badakhshan confirmed the accident, stating it occurred when a vehicle carrying the passengers veered off the road.
