President Joe Biden on Sunday extended his best wishes and prayers to Muslims in the United States and around the globe at the start of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month.
Biden shared his message on X, the social media platform previously known as Twitter, where he also touched upon the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
“Tonight, as the new crescent moon marks the start of Ramadan, Jill and I extend our best wishes and prayers to Muslims across our country and around the world,” he said.
Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, is observed with a month of fasting from dawn until sunset.
